When i met DJ Obi and his team at a wedding recently, i never knew he had plans to beat the current 200-hour record and attempted to do a 240-hour, ten-day set beginning at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22nd and ending at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016.
His team officially announced last week that after 229 hours and 58 minutes of straight DJing, DJ Obi’s ten-day attempt has come to a close, due to medical advisement, at 1:28pm on Saturday, July 2nd.
The Guinness World Record’s office are in thr process of verifying DJ Obi as the official new holder of the title, Guinness World Record Breaker for Longest Marathon Club DJing!
Team Obi hopes to make an official announcement as soon as possible. This reminds me of how Kaffy began her journey as a celebrity dancer by breaking the dance marathon record .
Here is to wishing DJ Obi greatness and fulfillment in the coming years too. From mynaijadj team.
