Bad Boy Timz Sues His Record Label for 200 Million Naira

Nigerian Singer Olorunyomi Oloruntimilehin popularly known as Bad Boy Timz has revealed that he is suing his former label Anonymous Music for N200 Million.

Bad Boy Timz who posted the update via his Instagram page on Monday, the 24th of May 2021 also announced his exit from Anonymous Music. He claims his lawyers have have served the lawsuit to the label, suing them for “libelous publication”, following the distribution of his arrest video to online blogs and media houses.

Apart from requesting the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira for damages, the singer is also asking for a letter signed by the owners of the label to be published in three different national newspapers, and an undertaking that they will desist from posting offensive videos of him in the future.

It’s yet to be known the next action that will be taken by the owners of Anonymous records. But why is this always the case with young Nigerian artistes and their record labels once the artistes taste a little limelight and wealth. The list is endless. The few that have left their record labels without a rift is mostly because the record label owners chose to look away and let things slide.

What is your opinion on record label/ artiste relationship in Nigeria and how can the ensuing rifts be stopped. This situation is closing opportunities for way too many artistes who would later be ignored by record lables that have lost to previous artistes.
